Compass Lexecon is proud to announce that Professor Audra Boone has affiliated with the firm. Audra Boone is a Professor of Finance and holder of the C.R. Williams Professorship in Financial Services in the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. Prior to this position, she was a Senior Financial Economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) working in the Office of Financial Intermediaries of the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis. She also had served as a visiting scholar in the SEC’s Office of Litigation Economics to work on issues related to allegations of securities fraud. Professor Boone has previously held academic positions at Texas A&M University, the University of Kansas, and the College of William and Mary. She has held visiting faculty appointments at Vanderbilt University and the University of Texas at Austin. Professor Boone has taught classes in financial management, advanced corporate finance, and mergers & acquisitions to undergraduates and MBA students, and classes in corporate finance and disclosure to PhD students.
Professor Boone is a research member at the European Corporate Governance Institute. She also serves in advisory roles at SKEMA Business School in France and WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany. She is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Corporate Finance.
Professor Boone's research interests include mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, and disclosure policy. Her publications have appeared in several top journals including, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, The Accounting Review, Review of Finance, and Journal of Law and Economics, among others. She has also frequently served as a referee for these journals.
Professor Boone is the recipient of multiple honors and is in high demand as a speaker in conferences and panel discussions on various subjects relating to her areas of expertise.
