Compass Lexecon LLC is pleased to announce that Jonathan B. Baker has joined the firm as a Senior Consultant and a member of our Advisory Committee. Baker most recently served as the Chief Economist at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). He served from 1995 to 1998 as the Director of the Bureau of Economics at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). In addition to his role at Compass Lexecon, he is a Professor of Law at American University's Washington College of Law, where he teaches courses primarily in the areas of antitrust and economic regulation.

Professor Baker said, “Compass Lexecon has an amazing team of antitrust economists, many of whom I have known for a long time. I am excited to be joining the firm and look forward to working with them on the most interesting and cutting-edge antitrust matters.”

Bobby Willig, a Senior Consultant at Compass Lexecon, commented: “I have had the pleasure of working with Jon inside and outside of government for many years. He served with real distinction at the DOJ and as the chief economist at both the FCC and FTC. Few people are as knowledgeable as Jon about the nexus between antitrust law and economics, as a matter of policy, litigation and economic analysis. Jon broadens and deepens the team of experts at Compass Lexecon. I am thrilled and proud that he has joined us.”
