Former Chief Economist of Israeli Antitrust Authority, Dr. Yair Eilat, Rejoins Compass Lexecon

Dr. Yair Eilat rejoins Compass Lexecon after serving as the Chief Economist and Deputy Director General of the Israel Antitrust Authority. Such experience strengthens Compass Lexecon’s existing Tel Aviv office, headed by Roy Rosenberg, as well as the firm’s global capabilities.

Prior to his time with the Israel Antitrust Authority, Dr. Eilat spent over a decade at Compass Lexecon, providing consulting services to many Fortune 500 companies and government agencies in the US and worldwide, on various antitrust, competition and policy matters. He specializes in applying theoretical modeling and econometric analysis to markets in many industries, including: high-technology, finance, media, energy, telecom, travel, and agriculture. He has submitted expert testimony to several government agencies, including the DOJ, FTC, SEC, and the European Commission.

Dr. Eilat has also worked as a researcher at the Harvard Institute for International Development and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and as an economic advisor to the Economics Committee and State Audit Committee of the Israeli parliament. He has written policy reports and published in academic journals in the fields of industrial organization and economic development, and he has taught at several academic institutes. Dr. Eilat holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in Law and Economics from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
