On 28th March 2023, The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.'s EUR 2,074 million acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems Holding AB cleared merger control in all global jurisdictions, including both the EEA and the UK at Phase 1. Compass Lexecon supported the merging Parties across all jurisdictions globally and engaged with the European Commission’s and CMA’s case teams during their respective Phase 1 investigations.

The Compass Lexecon team assisted with economic analyses of the Parties’ closeness of competition, contributing to the relevant analytical framework and using extensive industry data and web-scraped prices collected by Compass Lexecon’s Data Science Team. The Compass Lexecon team also assisted in developing the appropriate product and geographic frames of reference and estimating associated market shares in hundreds of associated putative market cuts

The Compass Lexecon team was led by Neil Dryden and included Angelos Stenimachitis, Martina Colloricchio, Ben Dubowitz, Abul Fazal, Peerawat Samranchit, Waldemar Schuppli, Alex Wiik and Adrian Sjahid, alongside others. We worked closely with a team from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer led by Alex Potter, Nicholas French and Tone Oeyen in Europe and the UK and by Kaori Yamada on other jurisdictions.

A new version of Compass Lexecon is available.
