Stone Energy Corp. Securities Litigation

Compass Lexecon was retained by Cliff Thau, Steven Paradise, and Hilary Preston of Vinson & Elkins on behalf of their client Stone Energy Corp. in a case involving the company’s revision of its proved oil and gas reserves. Compass Lexecon expert Daniel R. Fischel filed an expert report in the case, concluding that plaintiffs’ experts had failed to establish that there was any stock price decline caused by defendants’ disclosure of the reserve revisions. The case settled on favorable terms for our client. Fischel was assisted by Mike Keable, Peter Clayburgh, Cliff Ang, Jerry Lumer, and others in the Chicago office.
