Cendant

In this case, Compass Lexecon’s client Cendant Corp. sued an accounting firm claiming that the firm was responsible for Cendant’s restatement of prior financial results in 1998 which resulted in massive shareholder litigation. The accounting firm asserted counterclaims against Cendant for lost profits stemming from alleged harm to its reputation. Compass Lexecon experts Daniel R. Fischel and Bradley Reiff both filed reports and were deposed prior to the case being settled on very favorable terms.
