We are pleased to announce that Compass Lexecon was once again named one of the world’s leading economics consultancies by the Global Competition Review (GCR) in its annual Economics 20 survey. This year, GCR reported that “Compass Lexecon continues to dwarf its rivals with now more than double the headcount of its closest competitor, NERA.”

Compass Lexecon topped the list with the most competition specialists—259 professionals in total. Compass Lexecon counts among its competition practice several Nobel Prize winners, former chief economists of the Department of Justice’s antitrust division, a former chief economist at the Federal Trade Commission, former chief economists of the Federal Communications Commission, as well as other recognized industry leaders. Acquisitions in the past year strengthened the firm’s European and Latin American competition and international arbitration practices and provided additional expertise in intellectual property and airline competition issues.

Notable engagements in the past year included the proposed AT&T/T-Mobile merger, the Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger, the United/Continental merger, the Southwest/AirTran merger, the Comcast/NBC merger, the PepsiCo and Pepsi Bottling Group/PepsiAmericas deal, Yahoo’s sale of HotJobs to Monster Worldwide, Unilever’s acquisition of Alberto Culver, and other complex, high-profile transactions.

This was the seventh consecutive year Compass Lexecon was included in the Economics 20 listing. GCR analyzes firms based on several criteria, including reputation, size of practice, an evaluation of work performed in the past year, and the talents of individual economists.

A new version of Compass Lexecon is available.
