Lau Nilausen is a Senior Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in London.

Lau’s work focuses on the application of economics and finance theory to regulatory and competition disputes. He has two decades of experience as a regulator, management consultant, and economic and financial consultant.

Lau’s experience covers several industries, with a focus on telecoms, media and technology. He has worked extensively with price regulation, merger control, abuse of dominance investigations, state aid, and competition damages. During his time as an economist with the Danish Competition Authority, Lau was responsible for a case portfolio across infrastructure industries and was involved in developing policy recommendations based on market inquiries.

His experience includes the production of independent expert reports for submission to courts and competition and regulatory bodies across Europe and the Middle East.
Lau has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in economics from the University of Copenhagen, an MBA from SDA Bocconi, and is CFA Charterholder.
