Jonathan Bowater is a Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC. He specializes in the economics of industrial organization and antitrust. He has over 20 years of experience applying economic and econometric analysis to issues arising in antitrust and competition matters, including merger investigations, class certifications, and antitrust litigations. His trial experience includes analytical work on behalf of Arch Coal in FTC v. Arch Coal, and on behalf of Tyco in Natchitoches v. Tyco. Having previously worked in London, Mr. Bowater also has experience of competition proceedings under the jurisdiction of the European Commission and a number of European national competition authorities.

Mr. Bowater’s industry experience covers retailing, publishing, software, coal, beverages, beer, international spirits, packaged food, steel, industrial machinery, agricultural machinery, medical equipment, industrial chemicals, marine chemicals, air traffic control, and broadcasting. Mr. Bowater previously held positions at CapAnalysis and Lexecon (London).  He has a Masters in Economics and a B.S. in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol.
