Jiacheng Tian

Jiacheng Tian is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London

Mr Tian specialises in valuation, damages assessment and price review disputes in energy and infrastructure sectors. He has assisted expert witnesses and served private and public sector clients in multiple international arbitrations, regulatory proceedings and commercial negotiations.

Mr Tian’s experience involves the valuation and/or estimation of damages related to oil & gas, hydro, geothermal and motorway infrastructure assets or companies across Europe and Asia. He has worked on multiple price review and/or non-delivery disputes concerning long-term energy contracts. He has also engaged in a class action proceeding at the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal, analysing the impact of an alleged supply chain overcharge on the support received by offshore wind farms in the UK’s Renewables Obligation scheme.

Mr Tian holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BS in Computer Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been a CFA charterholder since 2025. He is a native speaker of Chinese Mandarin and fluent in English.
