Jeremiah Juts is a Senior Vice President within Compass Lexecon’s competition policy practice, based in Paris
Jeremiah has more than 15 years of experience as an applied economist specialising in competition policy and economic litigation. Jeremiah has been involved in several merger, antitrust, cartel, regulation, and damage assessment cases.
His work covers a large variety of industries, including telecommunications, railway, train and aircraft equipment, energy, financial services, payment systems, ticket distribution, car rental, airports, building materials, delivery services, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, postal services, beverages, consumer goods, meal vouchers, bus services, licensing rights, and numeric services.
He has advised clients in multiple jurisdictions, including the European Union, France, North Africa, and Eastern European countries. Jeremiah has given expert testimony before the European Commission, the French competition authority, and French courts.
Recent examples of Jeremiah’s work include a study on the economic space for independent train ticket distributors in France, advice on the Safran/Collins Aerospace and Hitachi/Thales GTS mergers, advice to a French meal voucher provider during an Article 101 TFEU investigation, and economic support to Avis in litigation proceedings following a breach of contract.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Jeremiah worked as an economist for the French electronic communications regulator, ARCEP. Jeremiah was in charge of price control of the incumbent’s offers. He developed margin squeeze tests and underlying cost models. He took part in the telephony retail and wholesale markets analyses.
Jeremiah graduated from the French National School of Statistics and Economic Administration (ENSAE) where he specialised in microeconomics. He also holds a master’s degree in Microeconomics and Game Theory.
Jeremiah is recognised as a Recommended Leader in the global Competition Economists guide by Lexology Index and is also featured as a Competition Economist in the guide dedicated to France.
