Enrico Alemani is a Principal Data Scientist in Compass Lexecon, based in London.

Enrico has eight years of experience as a competition economist and data scientist, specialising in applying machine learning and econometrics tools to competition cases. He is particularly interested in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and econometrics for causal inference.

Enrico has provided advice across various matters, including merger control, market investigations, antitrust and enforcement cases. He has experience in multiple industries, including energy, financial services, media, online platforms, insurance, and consumer goods.

Before joining Compass Lexecon, Enrico worked as an economic adviser and as a data scientist for the UK Competition and Markets Authority. He also worked in the Competition Division of the OECD and the Chief Economist’s Team of the DG Competition at the European Commission.

Enrico holds an MSc in Data Science from City University of London, and an MSc and BSc in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University.
