Dr. Salva Bertomeu is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Brussels.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.A in Advanced Economics, and an M.Sc. in Research Economics from Université libre de Bruxelles, and an M.A. in Development Economics and Public Policy from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Salva’s work focuses on the application of economic and econometric analysis to competition policy issues, including the impact on competition of cartels, damage estimation, and abuses of dominance. Salva has experience in a wide range of industries, including the automotive, banking and financial markets, audiovisual, telecommunications, and technology industries.

He has given expert testimony before the Spanish Commercial Courts.

Salva is also an Adjunct Professor at Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he previously taught The Economics of Regulation at Master's level and is currently teaching Introduction to Microeconomics at Bachelor's level.

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Salva was a teaching and research assistant at Université Libre de Bruxelles and worked as an external consultant for the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. His research work, focused on the regulation of public infrastructure services, has been published in international academic journals.
