Matheus Carlos is an Economist with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC.

Matheus is a member of the International Arbitration Practice with Portuguese and English as native and fluent languages, respectively, and Spanish at an advanced level. He applies mathematical, economic, and financial analysis within international treaty disputes.

His experience includes asset valuation and assessment of economic damages across several industries, including mining, paper, and renewable energy in a number of jurisdictions under ICC and ICSID rules. Matheus has been extensively involved in the drafting of expert reports, development of complex and customized valuation models, production of direct presentations, preparation of expert witnesses for hearings, and direct support to counsel and client.

Matheus has previously worked as an Analyst and Senior Analyst at Compass Lexecon from 2018-2021, and Senior Business Analyst for Capital One in 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Franklin & Marshall College, where he double majored in Economics and Mathematics as a member of two honor societies.
