Janin Wimer is a Senior Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Los Angeles.  Ms. Wimer has nearly 20 years of experience providing economic analysis and advice on antitrust matters, including litigation, regulatory inquiries, and mergers and acquisitions.  Her experience covers a wide range of industries, including digital platforms, online search, digital advertising, mobile devices, personal computer technology, wireless and wireline telecommunications, cable and satellite television, payment card services, and pharmaceutical.  Her experience in antitrust and competition conduct related to litigation and regulatory proceedings includes matters involving monopolization, price fixing, tying, bundled discounts, resale price maintenance, and exclusive dealing.  Her recent work with Compass Lexecon, and other firms, on United States v. Google was awarded “Behavioral Matter of the Year” at the 2022 Global Competition Review Awards.

She also has been involved in various merger and acquisition matters involving analysis of market definition, competitive effects and efficiencies, among which included advice on the Google/ITA acquisition and the AT&T/DIRECTV acquisition.  Google/ITA was awarded “Merger Control Matter of the Year – Americas” by the Global Competition Review in 2012. 

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Ms. Wimer provided research and economic analysis in antitrust litigation and merger and acquisition control matters related to the telecommunications, technology, grocery and pharmaceutical sectors at LECG.  Ms. Wimer holds an AB in Public Policy with Honors from the University of Chicago with a specialization in Economics.
