David W. Meyer

David Meyer is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon. Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, he served as a staff economist at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for 22 years. While at the FTC, he led the economic analysis of both merger and conduct cases, supported litigations, and evaluated settlements. He has worked in various industries, including semi-conductors, computer software and hardware, petroleum, chemicals, travel, and manufacturing. He also provided economic analysis to former Acting Chairman and Commissioner Maureen Olhausen’s office. In 2003/2004, he was detailed to the Council of Economic Advisers. He has provided technical assistance and training to competition agencies in Egypt, India, Hungary, and Argentina, and participated in a staff exchange with the UK Competition Commission. Dr. Meyer earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1996.
