Benoît Voudon is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London.

Benoît has worked as a competition economics consultant since joining Compass Lexecon in 2020.His work has included the assessment of competitive effects in mergers. Benoît has worked on cases before the European Commission, the CMA and various national competition authorities globally.

Recently, he assisted in providing economic advice to parties in merger proceedings of Cargotec/Konecranes a global container handling equipment companies that was notified in a large number of jurisdictions including the EU, the UK, China, and the USA. His responsibilities included the assessment of product and geographic market definitions and competitive constraints globally.

Benoît holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Trinity College Dublin. His doctoral research specialised in industrial organisation theory and investigated, on the one hand, the linkages between vertical integration and technology adoption incentives, and on the other hand, the relationship between online platforms’ investment strategies and the Retail Apocalypse. Benoît also holds a Master’s in Economics and Public Policy, jointly from Sciences Po, ENSAE and Ecole Polytechnique, and a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences from Sciences Po.
