Fifteen Compass Lexecon Experts Recognized Among the Best in International Arbitration

Last week, Global Arbitration Review published their annual Who's Who Legal Arbitration 2018: Expert Witnesses Analysis, announcing the world's most highly regarded arbitration damages and valuation experts. Compass Lexecon had 15 experts from Europe, North America and South America recognized as top expert witnesses, including five experts who have been named to this list every year since its inception in 2010. The analysis recognized our experts for their extensive experience acting as damages and valuation experts in domestic and international arbitrations, including disputes under AAA, ICC, SCC, ICSID and other arbitration venues and often delivering expert testimony in those proceedings.

Compass Lexecon professionals named in Global Arbitration Review's Who's Who Legal Arbitration 2018: Expert Witnesses list include the following: Manuel Abdala*, Julian Delamer, Neil Dryden, Dan Fischel, Eric Henson, Joseph Kalt*, Pablo Lopez Zadicoff, Boaz Moselle, Miguel Nakhle, Jorge Padilla*, Alejandro Requejo, Marcelo Schoeters*, David Sevy, Pablo Spiller* and Sebastian Zuccon.

In addition, Compass Lexecon experts Dr. Manuel A. Abdala and Professor Pablo T. Spiller were named as two of the top six Thought Leaders in Arbitration in North America. Boaz Moselle was named as one of the top 10 Thought Leaders in Europe. Thought Leaders are identified as being the very best in their field and have received the highest number of nominations from peers, corporate counsel and other market sources this year. The publication contained the following descriptions of the Compass Lexecon experts: Manuel Abdala is “considered among the gold standard of quantum experts” according to sources, who consider him “a real leader in the field,” particularly when it comes to investor state arbitrations. The “thorough and results-oriented” Pablo Spiller is “unparalleled in strategic thinking” and is recommended for “his deep understanding of how best to present expert evidence,” particularly in ICSID cases. Boaz Moselle is “one of the top names” in the field. “His high-level technical abilities and specific industry knowledge are invaluable when handling complex cases.”

Nominees for the Global Arbitration Review's Who's Who Legal Arbitration: Expert Witnesses lists are selected based on a comprehensive, independent survey of both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide. Only specialists who have met independent international research criteria are candidates. Individuals selected for this elite list possess an outstanding depth of knowledge in their area of expertise. These professionals also are recognized for their skill in giving expert oral evidence in commercial arbitrations, encompassing examination in chief, cross examination and, increasingly, witness conferencing.

Compass Lexecon's economists and financial experts have worked in all areas of international arbitration, delivering independent economic analysis, valuation opinions, damages assessments, regulatory opinions, expert reports and arbitration testimony.
