Dr. Georg Clemens is a Senior Economist with Compass Lexecon based in Düsseldorf. Before joining in 2015, Georg worked for an economic consultancy specializing in competition in Berlin.

Georg has worked on a number of high-profile cases relating to a wide range of competition matter including antitrust investigations, mergers and cartel damage estimations. His sector experience includes agriculture, bathroom-fittings, energy, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, media, oil services, semiconductors, tech, telecommunications and trucks where he has advised clients across several jurisdictions in English, French and German.

Georg holds a Ph. D. (magna cum laude) in Economics from DICE (University of Düsseldorf) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Bonn, where he specialized in European competition policy and European regulation of network industries.

Georg is a visiting lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf and the Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences. His research has been published in journals including Theory and Decision and in the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy.

He was recognized as a “Future Leader” in 2020 and as a “Global Leader” in 2021 and 2022 by Who’s Who Legal.
