Dr. Alejandro Requejo is an Executive Vice President and head of Compass Lexecon’s Madrid office.

Alejandro has more than 25 years of experience in economic consulting. He specializes in applying economic analysis and econometrics to the quantification of damages in litigation and arbitration, as well as to competition policy matters. He has given expert testimony before ICSID, DIS, the European Commission, the Spanish competition authorities, the Madrid Court of Arbitration, and the Spanish courts.

Alejandro has extensive experience advising on damages litigation cases arising from anticompetitive conduct. Recent examples include Motor Vehicles, Trucks, and Retail Price Maintenance in Petrol Stations, in connection with which Alejandro has testified extensively before Spanish courts.

He has also advised on Article 101 and Article 102 matters, including cases in the fuel distribution sector, the postal sector, telecommunications pricing, and intellectual property tariff setting. His competition advisory work also includes telecommunications merger cases before the European Commission and across other jurisdictions, with examples including Vodafone/Three UK, T-Mobile NL/Tele2, and Hutchison 3G Italia/Wind.

His work has also involved the application of choice modelling techniques and econometrics to the design of optimal pricing policies for complex services such as broadband internet, mobile telephony, and pay TV. In addition, he specializes in the design of tariffs for the remuneration of intellectual property rights.

Alejandro is recognized as a Global Elite Thought Leader in the Competition Economists 2026 guide by Lexology Index. He has also been recognized as a Thought Leader in Commercial Litigation and has been recommended in the Arbitration Expert Witnesses and Financial Advisory and Valuation: Quantum of Damages categories.

Alejandro holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an M.A. in Economics from CEMFI.
