Vilen Lipatov is a Senior Economist in the Brussels office. Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, he was an Assistant Professor at Goethe University Frankfurt. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute and Master Degrees from the Central European University and the Moscow State University.
Dr. Lipatov has served as an academic associate for CRA, addressing a number of projects in IT, intellectual property and telecommunications. He has published research articles in leading international journals, such as the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Competition Law and Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Macroeconomics and Finanzarchiv. He has also served as a referee to various economic journals.
Dr. Lipatov has taught a wide range of courses on bachelor, master and PhD level, including Industrial Organization, Competition Policy, Advanced Microeconomics, Public Economics and Macroeconomics. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at Leibniz University Hannover and as a Visiting Professor at University of Siegen, Philipps University Marburg and European Business School.
