Paola Gutierrez is an Economist with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC. Her work primarily involves business and asset valuation; and economic, financial, and regulatory analysis in the context of commercial and investment arbitrations.
Ms. Gutierrez has prepared reports for submission in arbitration under the rules of ICSID, ICC, and UNCITRAL. Her work experience covers assets and business interests in a wide variety of industries, including mining, electricity, renewable energy, aviation, and gaming. Ms. Gutierrez has worked with projects in multiple jurisdictions including Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Peru, and Venezuela. These matters involved the development of complex and customized valuation models, the drafting of expert testimony, the preparation of expert witnesses for hearings, and direct support to counsel and client throughout arbitration proceedings.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Ms. Gutierrez worked as a consultant for the international arbitration team at FTI Consulting. Ms. Gutierrez holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and International Relations with a focus in Latin American Studies from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from New York University.
