Mariela Huillier is an Economist with Compass Lexecon, based in Paris. Since joining in 2018, Mariela has been involved in some of the most high-profile mergers assessed by the European Commission in recent years, including: Aon/Willis Tower Watson, Alstom/Bombardier; PKN Orlen/Grupa Lotos; and E.ON/Innogy.
Mariela also has experience in damage and abuse of dominance cases in the consumer good industry and has advised on cases before national competition authorities, including the French competition authority.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Mariela worked in public policy evaluation, both in academia and the private sector.
Mariela holds a dual B.A. from Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris, and a joint Master’s degree in Economics from Ecole Polytechnique, ENSAE and Sciences Po Paris. Mariela is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and has working knowledge of Portuguese.
