Josep Peya is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London.
Josep specializes in the application of economic analysis to the study of competition policy, including the assessment of market definition, the competitive impact of mergers, anti-competitive practices, and damages estimation.
Josep has been involved in several competition cases before the European Commission as well as national competition authorities. He recently worked on the JD Sports/Footasylum merger investigated by the UK CMA, and Phase II merger investigations Fincantieri/Chantiers de l’Atlantique and E.ON/Innogy by the European Commission.In addition, he is working with a team conducting damages estimation for a heavy truck manufacturer in the context of litigation proceedings.
Josep holds a Master’s in Competition and Market Economics from Barcelona GSE and a double degree Bachelor in Economics and Law from University Pompeu Fabra. He is a qualified lawyer in Spain.
