Joel Papke is a Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC. He specializes in empirical studies and econometric analyses using large data bases and computer models in both government and private litigation settings. He has extensive experience developing data for electric utility price and market share models. In addition, Mr. Papke has completed numerous analyses utilizing company sales and transactions databases. He has prepared data for several private class action cases as well as merger proceedings. He also has performed detailed critiques of opposing expert’s econometric analyses. His areas of experience include financial securities, telecommunications, health care, commodity manufacturing industries, environmental cleanup, and electric and natural gas utilities.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon (formerly COMPASS) in 2007, Mr. Papke held the position of Senior Economist at Economists Incorporated where he did similar work as an economic consultant. He also has held the position of Economist at Lexecon Inc. and Senior Research Economist at DRI/McGraw-Hill. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Economics and Chemistry from Swarthmore College.
