Jaime Coronado Hinojosa is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Brussels.
Jaime specializes in the application of economic and econometric analysis techniques to the study of competition policy, including the assessment of market definition, and the competitive impact of mergers and anticompetitive practices. He has worked on a variety of cases in industries including digital platforms, healthcare and life sciences, transportation, energy, telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, and chemical products.
Recently, Jaime has worked on abuse of dominance cases in the digital sector and beer sector before the European Commission; merger cases including Alstom/Bombardier Transportation, Widex/Sivantos, Cofigeo/William Saurin, T-Mobile NL/Tele2 NL, and Safran/Zodiac Aerospace; antitrust cases such as those in the sectors of car rental companies, parcel delivery services, personal and home care products in France; litigation cases, such as the heavy truck manufacturers infringement and the dairy products infringement; among others.
Jaime’s prior experience includes working as a Research Assistant for the French Competition Authority and the French Ministry of Transport, and as a Teaching Assistant at the Toulouse School of Economics.
Jaime holds a B.Sc. in Economics, Law, and Administration from Université de Toulouse and an M.Sc. in Economics of Markets and Organisations from Toulouse School of Economics where he specialized in applied Industrial Organization.
