Vice President
Dr. Plache specializes in antitrust economics and industrial organization. She has worked on a number of antitrust matters involving alleged monopolization, tying, price fixing, exclusive dealing, predatory pricing practices, and damages estimation. She also has consulted on intellectual property litigation, including trade secrets and trademark infringement matters, and on securities litigation involving insider trading. Dr. Plache has served clients in the payment cards, vitamins, telecommunications, rental car, alternative fuel vehicle, music, home fragrance, AFIS systems, and petrochemical industries.
Dr. Plache holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles where she specialized in the fields of Industrial Organization and Economic History. Her research has examined competition in two-sided markets and the economics of payment cards. She also has conducted empirical analysis of behavioral law and economics hypotheses related to consumer payment card use.
Previously, Dr. Plache was a Vice President at Economic Analysis and a Principal at LECG.
