Stefano Trento is a Vice President in Compass Lexecon’s European competition policy group.
Since joining the London office in 2011, Stefano has been involved in a variety of competition policy cases including merger control, regulation, Article 101, Article 102, international arbitrations, and private litigations before the UK High Court. Stefano has an extensive experience in two-sided markets and in intellectual property rights, and has assisted leading companies in a variety of sectors including telecommunications, energy, card payments, e-commerce, railways, retailing and many others.
Before joining Compass Lexecon, Stefano served as an Assistant Professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Department of Economics. He was also Affiliated Professor at Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and Research Fellow at MOVE. He has published academic articles in the fields of economics of innovation and intellectual property rights. Stefano earned a Ph.D. in Economics with honors from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, and a M.Sc. in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra
