Frédéric Palomino is a Senior Vice President in the competition policy group of Compass Lexecon in the Paris office. Frédéric has advised clients on a wide variety of competition policy issues, covering sectors as diverse as energy, agri-food, transports (rail and road), telecommunication, financial services, daily newspaper, travelling agencies. Frédéric has advised clients in merger or antitrust cases at the European Commission level and at the level of the French competition authorities, as well as other jurisdictions. Frédéric has also acted as economic expert in damage evaluation for litigation cases involving either shareholder disputes, breach of contracts, or follow-on claims. He is featured in the Who’s Who of Competition Economists. 

Frédéric worked from 2006 to 2009 as a Case Handler at the Conseil de la concurrence and Autorité de la concurrence where he was mainly involved in telecom cases. He also worked on the CCIP/Unibail merger.

Frédéric earned a Ph.D. in Economics at the European University Institute in 1994. He then joined Tilburg University where he was an Assistant Professor and then an Associate professor of Finance and Economics. In September 2003, he joined HEC Paris as an Associate Professor of Finance.

Frédéric has also taught at Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et d’Administration Economique (ENSAE) and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Economics at EDHEC Business School. His academic research focuses on financial economics and industrial organization. His articles have been published in the Journal of Finance, RAND Journal of Economics, Journal of Financial and Qunatitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Intermediation, International Journal of Industrial Organisation, Economic Theory, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of The European Economic Association, Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organization.
